Vinyasa yoga class
Friday 11am-12pm in term time
Grayswood Village Hall
Do you spend your time racing around, getting everybody to the right place, with the right kit at the right time – prioritising everyone else at the expense of your own wellbeing?
Would you like to create regular time and space for yourself so that you feel nourished, calm and resilient?
Join my yoga class – a challenging and playful vinyasa yoga class, in which movement is linked with the breath.
These classes are fun and friendly, fairly strong and give you the chance to focus on your breath, body and build confidence and determination for your practice.
In the upcoming block, we’ll start with some work on strength and flexibility as it may be a while since you’ve rolled out your mat. We’ll then be working towards some fun shapes and hand balances by strengthening the upper body, opening up the hips and working on taking flight in flying lizard and flying pigeon poses.
There are seven classes in the block, taking us up to the October half term.
Sessions are now available to book online. You can sign up the block for the best value, a five-class pass or drop ins are also available.
You can also catch my online classes on a Monday lunchtime, 12-1pm.
Places are limited so sign up today to secure your spot.

What to bring
A yoga mat
Any yoga props that you like to use
Anything warm/soft/comfortable that you like to use for relaxation – bolsters, pillows, blankets, eye pillows all very welcome
Wear something you can practice yoga in and something snuggly you can relax in.
Tips for your practice
Try to practice on an empty stomach. We twist and fold during our practice and this can be uncomfortable if you’re digesting food.
Drink plenty of water before and after class to keep hydrated but try to avoid drinking during the class as cold water can cool the body down in contrast to the heat that we build to work safely with the muscles.
Wear comfortable stretchy clothes that will not restrict your practice and beware of anything too loose that may fall over your head every time you come into a downward dog! Remove any jewellery and its best not to practice in socks as these can slip on the mat, although feel free to pop them back on and bring something warm and cosy for relaxation.
Practice with kindness, don’t force any movements and try to let go of any frustration you feel at the strength or flexibility that may not yet be available to you. With patience and practice, it will come. Try to keep your facial muscles relaxed, sometimes when we’re concentrating or working hard, this can present itself as a frown, smile!
