Anything warm/soft/comfortable that you like to use for relaxation – bolsters, pillows, blankets, eye pillows all very welcome
Set up your device so that you can see me and I can see you. Cameras must be switched on for the duration of the class so I can observe your practice and guide you accordingly.
Tips for your practice
Try to practice on an empty stomach. We twist and fold during our practice and this can be uncomfortable if you’re digesting food.
Drink plenty of water before and after class to keep hydrated but try to avoid drinking during the class as cold water can cool the body down in contrast to the heat that we build to work safely with the muscles.
Wear comfortable stretchy clothes that will not restrict your practice and beware of anything too loose that may fall over your head every time you come into a downward dog! Remove any jewellery and its best not to practice in socks as these can slip on the mat, although feel free to pop them back on and bring something warm and cosy for relaxation.
Practice with kindness, don’t force any movements and try to let go of any frustration you feel at the strength or flexibility that may not yet be available to you. With patience and practice, it will come. Try to keep your facial muscles relaxed, sometimes when we’re concentrating or working hard, this can present itself as a frown, smile!
