Arm balance and inversion
workshop series

If arm balances and inversions feel out of reach—or like something you never quite have time to figure out in class—you’re not alone.

This workshop series is designed for yogis who feel stuck, unsure where to start, or tired of hearing cues that don’t quite translate in their body. Instead of rushing through poses, we’ll slow things down and break them into clear, manageable steps—so you can understand what’s happening and why.

Each session includes a targeted warm-up flow to build strength and flexibility, followed by focused pose breakdowns. You’ll receive individual coaching and optional hands-on assists to support your progress and help things click in your body.

Expect a supportive, down-to-earth space where questions are encouraged, options are always offered, and progress is built step by step.

Don’t worry if you can’t do these poses yet, that’s what these workshops are all about!

If you have some of these poses already, we’ll be able to get you feeling stronger and look at progressing to different variations and ways in and out of each one.

By the end of the series, you’ll feel stronger, clearer, and more confident in your practice—and more capable of lifting, balancing, and exploring upside down.

17th May - Crow pose, variations and transitions

We’ll look at bakasana and its variations, including baby crow, progressing to crane and one-legged crow. We’ll also work towards transitions out of the pose, including crow to headstand and jumping back to chaturanga dandasana.

27th June - Headstand, variations and entries

We’ll work towards sirsasana in this workshop, including tripod and bound variations. We’ll also explore different ways to enter the pose, including straddle, pike and from crow.

26th September - Koundiyasana A&B

We’ll explore eka pada koundinyasana I and II, breaking down the key actions including twisting, core engagement and leg positioning. We’ll also look at different ways to enter the poses, building strength, control and confidence along the way.

Workshops are held at Grayswood Village Hall in the OJ room upstairs.

Mats and props will be available but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

Investment for each workshop is £30.

Book your place online. Spaces are limited to ensure a supportive environment and time for each attendee to receive coaching and hands on support on their pose and progress.
